Stepping back into poetry...

I have a small poem in the Highway 152 Zine.
A venture by the indomitable spirit of Hillsboro, Jessica Griffin.
We are lucky to have her courageousness and vision in our community.
Consider visiting Hillsboro. Snap a few photos, write something.
Then submit to the Highway 152 Zine!

As described by Jessica:
A place-based publication dedicated to sharing the winding road through the soul of our community. Self-reliant, gritty, contradictory, glorious.

Hillsboro Peak by Chantal Elena Mitchell

My fire watch friend invites me to visit.
Five miles of burn scar between us.
Prosecco in my backpack. (Pack it in, Pack it out.)
The joy of a peaceful shit at 10,020 feet.
Aldo Leopold Wild. Yeah, that's Hilllsboro Peak.
